Well I finally did it and went back to a ftf meeting! I actually enjoyed the experience very much and felt as if I was in the right place...finally! It has been a long and arduous process to get back to the rooms and I am very glad I made the effort. I sincerely hope to continue meetings and to learn from my fellow members in so many ways.
One thing that struck me today is that I have a lot more work to do. I thought I was further along than I actually am, because today's readings really led me to see things I need to work on for myself. It is so odd that one meeting can open your eyes so much. It is time to really concentrate on me and my issues.
I did make a pretty big mistake after the meeting and handled something poorly, so I called my RAH and told him immediately. Because my mind could not fathom a solution, I asked him for a suggestion and he gladly told me a perfect way to resolve my issue. It seems I have forgotten that no is a complete sentence and that "I don't want to discuss it" is perfectly ok! So, in the future, I will do better and will stay on task and not be led into uncomfortable situations which I can easily prevent by remembering "not my monkey, not my circus" and keeping my thoughts and my comments to myself.
Good for you, usually at meetings i hear what i
Need to hear or get stuff re enforced. I love to
Just listen. I love to see good healthy changes
In people as they work the program.
Its all a process being part of a group do your
Part setup, take down, greet newcomers, give
Someone a hug.
I was so raw for a long time and i just left shortly
Afterward. Now i just start putting things away and
I am the librarian and i go to business mtgs.
I think that is great you can call you ah and
Ask him questions like that :)
Great share doingmybest. Being an imperfect human, I have found that as long as I live I will need to keep learning how to live so I will continue to keep coming back.
DMB - so late to this thread but so very glad that you found what you needed at the meeting(s) you attended! I am hopeful that you are continuing to go and grow - I love my meetings and my home group and am so grateful to have found this program. Your post is a great reminder for me as to why I keep going!!
Yay for you!!! (((Hugs)))
