C2C Reading for May 14 2016

The C2C reading for May 14 speaks about Al-Anon recovery, being a discipline. The reading points out that this discipline requires diligence, patience and consistency for the best results. Regular attendance at meetings, working the steps and applying the Al-Anon principles every part of the day leads to a fuller and more enjoyable life.

Many times we don't see the results of our efforts right away, but if we go on putting 1 foot in front of the other, we find that when we seem to reach the end of our patience, a door way seems to open and we suddenly take a leap forward. We see that the time in  the past was  not wasted. Although we didn't know it, we were quietly absorbing the program. Most of us find these results well worth the wait.

Today's quote is from a Turkish proverb; "Patience is the key to Paradise."

Oh how I needed to develop the grace of "patience"  Learning how to stay in the moment, in the day and not project to the  future really helped me to let go of problems that    I could not immediately address and the gift of  patience developed without  my being aware.

Acceptance of life on life's terms became  a true gift that I now know how to live by .  Thanks to program

Thank you Betty for today's reading! I am up earlier than planned and this was a great read for me today. That quote is great and so true. Before I came to the program, I often tried to force solutions and had no patience in letting issues play out as they should. Instead, I was working towards imposing my will and my values on others, knowing I could/would accept things when ...

In Al-Anon, the daily maintenance of my serenity has paid off more than any 12 Step effort I made in the past. I believe this side of the program has truly helped me dive even deeper into me to understand more about who I am, why I act/react as I do, etc. AA helped me understand my relationship with substances while Al-Anon helped me understand my relationship with me and others. More onion peeling happened in Al-Anon, helping me be a sober, better version of me.

I now can accept that where I am is where I am supposed to be. We are all imperfect humans living in an imperfect world. Accepting life on life's terms truly has brought me peace and serenity I didn't know I was missing.

Thanks for your service as always and your ESH!! Have a super Saturday!
