I wrote down my story last week for a friend, recapping the events of late and what I did or didn't do in response. It was funny looking from that point of view author and not main character, you see flaws in the story line; where the story should have stopped or where a new chapter needed to begin. It started to make no sense and rambled on and on. I ended my story to my friend; "man I recognize how chaotic this is" and her response "sounds normal to me". My friend is 15 months into al anon herself. How comforting to have her eye and ear and to know that yes it's chaos but also others have lived it too.
My current worry is sitting here processing what it is everyone thinks I should do, wants me to do for their own sanity and most importantly what I need to do for myself. For the first time I'm letting the latter call the shots instead of all those others with opinions of what I need to do to be happy and healthy. Im listening to me because it is only I that can impact my life both positively and negatively. My next step is to get others to respect my decisions and that comes with being confident that they Are right for me first.
Crau - you are doing a good job figuring out what 'is' for you.....that is the premise of the program - keep up the work and you will be amazed at how it feels when we put ourselves first.
(((Hugs))) - Keep coming back!
