I was sitting at the breakfast table in deep decision as to whether I should do it or not and then...truth is I could not not do it. What was the "it"...and April fools joke with my spouse. Her back was to me washing dishes and so I started, "That was a weird way to wake up this morning with a Mo`o (house lizard) fast asleep on my forehead...laying across my forehead just passed out". As I expected my wife turns around with part fear and more disgust on her face say, "I hope you are lying to me..." Looking at her face without peeing my pants was the big task as I continued, "it was laying across my forehead, long tail to the left and head to the right." She looked like she would scream and I started to laugh OUT LOUD!! I knew her imagination has already put up the picture and I was done trying to hold my composure.
We have lots of Mo`o around the property...they are a cultural aumakua or entity and represent care of families...she is not from here so the picture of a Mo`o laying across my forehead asleep as I was sleeping wouldn't work for her and I was playing the greatest April Fools joke in my life time. This one's going to stick for a while and I will pass it on to my other brothers and sisters in recovery just to spread the humor. None of them would get it if they were smashed.
Thanks for letting me share and let me hear yours please. (((((ha ha ha)))))
Good one Jerry, good one! I texted my softball folks and told them I broke my ankle (we are to play tonight)....I got several "Really?" and a few "Bummers..." and then I said, "April Fools!!!"
So - not as good as yours as I did it via text but threw one out there...
Happy April!!

a4l lol...we were raised with similar magical beliefs...I love mine...often moko will fall from the ceiling on to me yet they land so softly I don't know they are there until we are eye to eye. We also had that belief about falling asleep with our mouths open that they would crawl in. Nice memories along with the alcoholism. (((hugs)))
