Happy Easter Eve...I'm up checking in with you family, putting the finishing touches on the morning meal donation to the "Easter Feaster" annual breakfast at my Saturday AA Home Group AA at the bay. Every year we do an Easter and Christmas feed and we eat after the meeting. It is quiet in our house tho the road noise increases and the drivers start to go from point A to B. The sunrise is a typical Easter sunrise...bright and beautiful and while I cook I cannot stop my thoughts and imagination from offering recovery messages I have been learning since I first made the doors of Al-Anon and then AA. We spoke recently in a post about the alcoholic and sugar which my recovery still struggles with...not a problem as I remember lessons from the Al-Anon Ladies about using sugar substitute in my meals and drinks.
I am also reminded about the similarity between resurrection and sobriety/serenity/recovery. Is it not all the same? I think so though I will not be rising from a literal grave I am continuing to rise from our disease trying to bury me too early. I like that picture and it puts a smile on my face.
My wife is on the couch snoozing after rising maybe a bit too early for herself and after taking care of early morning chores decides to snooze rather than watch the early morning news on the TV. I draped a light blanket over her body for just a bit more warmth and more "snuggies". I will be taking off soon to the shoreline and my recovery group. Chances are there will be 60 to 75 sober As' looking for Jerry F's fried rice with cubed spam in it. Lets not let them down eh?
God enjoy the Son Rise family...peace and love and serenity to you all. (((((MIP)))))
Great share Jerry and it sounds like a ton of fun and fellowship! Congratulations on your celebration with your home group - lovely, lovely - a miracle of HP is the way I read it.
I have a bit of anxiety creeping in for my holiday tomorrow as it's the first with my extended family after the loss of one of our young. I am praying to be of service and to take my peace with me!
Your share brought me back to the here and now, which I needed...
(((Hugs))) - Happy, Happy Easter to you and yours!

I love to hear about traditions for holidays. Our Easter morning was very relaxed and low key, we made it to church and the sermon was amazing. Came home and cooked up a ham with all the fixings, ate and watched the movie "Passion of the Christ", it seemed fitting. I am very grateful to hear of your recovery journey and appreciate mine as well these days. Happy belated Easter to you and yours!
