So I thought I completely bombed my interview on Thursday that poor lady I interviewed with must have thought I had a screw loose. I showed up at the wrong campus to start my interview off, so I was late for the actual interview .. lol. Then I had a pounding headache I'm sure from stress, hormones and lack of caffeine. So the whole time I'm talking to this woman all I can think is how do I gracefully end this without looking like a total moron. I honestly can't remember what she asked me or my responses that's how bad I hurt. I know I shocked her with my honesty about a couple of responses .. LOL .. don't ask it was brutal. I was practicing rigorous honesty to end the conversation .. LOL. Her eyes flared in surprise a couple of times.
I called my temp agency and just said look .. I'm so sorry I just don't think that went well at ALL .. they laughed at me and said OMGOSH .. S .. you are so wonderful when you interview why would you say that and I laughed and said she got way more than she bargained for I know. Well, I got a call yesterday and they do want me for the position (imagine my surprise and shock), here's hoping I pass the background check .. LOL. I think it should not be an issue however .. ugh .. because of what has happened in the past I always hold my breath. My agent went on and on about how much this gal just really liked me and I said I have NO idea why because I was very brutally honest about a few things and she was so totally stunned I figured she though looney tunes!
So hopefully I start sooner than later we'll see. I am still going out on other interviews and looking at other jobs so I hope that something comes up very shortly. This job or something else would be wonderful!
Hugs S :)

Serenity, it's so nice to hear good news from the job market ... I know it is quite challenging when searching for a new job. When you described the interview and your perception, I'm thinking that perhaps the interviewer was refreshed by your honesty. So often in job interviews we just try to say what we think the interviewer wants to hear. Anyway, maybe what you thought of as over-the-top was just saying what you mean, meaning what you say, and not saying it mean. Maybe the skill of directness is needed in this job.
Anyway, best of luck and keep on trying. There is a job out there for you.
It's funny you would say that Freetime .. I got my last job because I did tell my old boss (this was the boss that was let go). I told her exactly what I could and could not do .. LOL. She said to me when we met for lunch one day I was the bravest person she met. She was so shocked by my honesty she'd never had someone interview the way I did. The woman before went on about what she could do and I said look I can do this .. can't do that .. and I want to be sure this will be a good fit for us both because I could tell I would like to work there. I love the smell of leather in the morning .. LOL. I don't understand the need to be who I am not .. LOL. So please understand if that's how I am under normal circumstances .. I just wish I could remember what I said exactly! Now I'm a little scared .. LOL!!
