memories & leap day!

Gotta get this out: It is leap day & it feels really strange. Don't know how to explain it but then again some days are just strange anyhow. I am so grateful for all of you who shared your experience w/ recovery. I thought it was a pretty good thread myself.

So today is full of good memories. I am on my own on foot. It is a mixed day. Mixed w/ sunshine & rain. Both is needed this way. I am really amazed by the February weather. This is the last day & I wonder what March will bring. Maybe spring has sprung already.

Life is good. My AH is doing so well. He got his cataract surgery last Weds. on his right eye. And, a procedure on his glaucoma. It is a long process as you know. I am so glad that he will be able to see better & he will be able to see better. I am counting on the latter. I am so glad we don't have to do this every day. Just for 4 weeks or so. He is kind of stubborn about taking it easy. He wants to move. I am just glad that he listens to some things he is supposed to do even if it is not all.

I am awakened to a lot of memories. I actually cried during the Oscars more than once. I usually cried during the Memoriam. I was moved especially when they said that " Amy" won for a documentary movie. Her story is sometimes only seen as tragic but at the same time it really meant something.

So, I am all over the map w/ my share. I guess it is a lot to take in.

By the way, I got to an outside meeting after I went to my usually scheduled appts. 60 miles away from home. The appts. were right by the hospital where we attend the meetings when we get the chance. My sponsor was there & I got to actually talk to her face-to-face. We almost daily text each other w/ our day & a moment of gratitude. It is a very special time for both of us. It is so nice to have the time. I enjoy the creativity of coming up w/ a gratitude moment.

It is encouraging to get on here & communicate w/ all y'all.

Love ya!

Kathleen

What a lovely post hoot. Thanks for sharing. Sounds like you have a lot to be grateful for. Your words make me think of how everything is really about our perspective and how we can see everything as a blessing if we choose too.x

Always a pleasure to see a 'Hoot' post - great share Kathleen and glad also for the lovely February weather (we've been warmer than normal and it's been nice)!!

Glad to hear that the eye surgery/procedures went well. My AH is not a lovely patient either, it must be a guy thing.

Cool that you got to a meeting and got to see your sponsor. Keep doing what you are doing - it looks great on you!

(((Hugs)))
