and to be an old timer watching newcomers work it and create miracles in their lives is a gift from HP. At last nights Wednesday Night Turning Point AFG the oriental family who have been attending for about a month came back. We used the Paths To Recovery second step section...read and then share and they consumed the section. Their qualifier is a sister they love so much who is fully taken over by the addiction. The father and two adult daughters came and stayed to talk and one of the daughters brought her boyfriend who sat and refrained from sharing...(not unusual...did it myself). After the meeting I spoke with the father for a bit and am amazed at his personal involvement in his own recovery. He has a new set of eyes and a willingness to practice getting well. He is a single father over 55 I would guess and such a quiet spirit. I listen and he shows me that he "gets" it and loves getting it. They are Oriental in culture and there are many oriental people here. I look forward to having him in the rooms...this is what program is about. (((hugs)))
Thats wonderful Jerry! I love to see newcomers come in and get it too! I love the feeling because it sparks that feeling I felt and is a great reminder on why I keep coming back!
Thanks for sharing, Katsfree

Jerry - thanks for the share.....I so need the reminders of what it's all about. I've been distracted lately and am gratefully reminded of how far I've come because others who came before me were willing to be patient with me while I 'got it' and share their ESH.
(((hugs))) - what a lovely story and sounds like you got great new folks coming to your home group!!

Thank you jerry. Love your gratitude and sweet gentle way of sharing it. I dont go gently, would love too but i get it and you helped me. Your a wee gift jerry. Xxxx
Gerry~You are a wonderful role model of acceptance and kindness. I had 4 newcomers to my last F2F and I was so happy to have them. The entire group seems grateful when we have new folks. It's an opportunity to help, it's a reminder of where I have been, and when someone returns it's a win-win. Have a beautiful day, Lyne
