The material presented
here is not Al-Anon Conference Approved Literature. It is a method
to exchange
information, ideas, feelings, problems and solutions on a personal
level.
C2C reading for February 7 speaks about making a decision every day to move in a positive direction. Knowing that major strides are often begun with very small steps, the reading suggests that by asking someone to be my sponsor, reaching out to a newcomer when trying a different Al-Anon meeting, may be all I can accomplish in this one day and that is enough .
I could also start an exercise program, make an appointment for dental or Dr. visit, write some letters, read a book or meditate. There are so many ways in which I can improve the quality of my life. Instead of fretting about what I can't have or can't do. I can take actions to create something positive in my life today.
The quote is from Samuel Johnson, "to improve the Golden moment of opportunity, and catch the good that is in within our reach, is the great art of life."
Thank you alanon for giving me the ability to appreciate the small beautiful things in this world that i so often ignored or took for granted The song of a small bird, a squirrel, a breeze and the music in the wind. I repeat the serenity prayer and the 3rd Step each morning when I wake and trust that I will find HP's guidance during the day . I have found that the inner glow and wonder at the natural beauty of this world has increased greatly - Thanks HP
Great reading for today - what I needed to hear.....I'm in the baby steps mode of recouping my normal. It's a new journey each day to determine what makes sense for self-care today. I am grateful that I no longer have to sit and fret over what's not right with the world, but can instead flip that and focus on what is right with the world.
Headed to my F2F meeting today and will carry this message with me today! It aligns well with Joel O for today (another normal for my Sunday mornings....).
Thank you Betty for the ESH & the service. Have a great day!
