The material presented
here is not Al-Anon Conference Approved Literature. It is a method
to exchange
information, ideas, feelings, problems and solutions on a personal
level.
I spent some time at a clients home this afternoon that my eldest son also is doing some work for. I was no surprise that the client told me that he had learned stuff from my son about alcoholism in that my son admits to not being comfortable or in line with his new woman friends drinking. He has started to live my story and not speak to me about it...okay with me cause he has been turned over by my wife and I. My client tells it "He is concerned about the amount she drinks and what happens to her when she does". He also has a drinking addiction coupled with drugs so everything is level right? Still my story...he's duplicating. She has been married and divorced 3 times with drinking and drugs being the center post of her life history. My response to my client was to relate to him some of my own story and he admitted to his own drinking problem...so now its a full house right? I've been in program both sides of the fence and my son confides that he sees why me and his step-mom should attend (LOL!!) that after one Al-Anon face to face. It happens....
So what's a Dad (in recovery) to do? Turn him over right? Done and we are not listening to hear foot steps running up to our doorway. He knows my history and story and has participated in it even. All he needs to do to get to our door way is come down hill just over a half a mile and knock. Scary adding him to my prayer list a g a i n. ((((hugs))))
(((Jerry))) - prayers headed your way! I am always dumb-founded at this disease that just keeps on giving....May your program continue to keep you strong and focused on what you can do to be at peace with whatever comes next...
We're all just a post away!!
