Life is good FOR TODAY

I just thought I would share a little update on my life.  At this time, my life has settled down considerably.  I am attending weekly al-anon meetings, an online group, and this board, all which have helped me immensely.  Right now AD is in treatment with a plan to enter into recovery home following.  This was her decision.  I am doing my best to stay out of the way.  It has been absolutely wonderful to see and hear glimpses of my "old" girl before alcoholism found her.  She seems a lot different this time around as compared to previous treatment and I am hopeful. I also had the opportunity to attend a family program which was beyond terrific and I am so thankful for that opportunity.    It is very very early in the recovery process, (for both of us)  and I do have many fears about the future and what it holds but I know that I only have today, the next 24 hours to either live how I want to live or live in fear and worry.  I am choosing peace today.  Thank you to everyone whom consistently posts and responds. Never under estimate how your post may help some one else.  It is amazing how sometimes one little statement from a complete stranger can get you through a rough patch.  I am grateful.

(((Serenity))) - thanks for giving us an update. Your post shows your progress in the program, and you do sound at peace.....it made me thing that God is good and serenity comes to those who work for it! Kudos to your AD also - it sounds like she's making some decisions that support recovery and it's a hopeful choice. She will be living with others who are also in recovery and for some reason, in my experience, gals seem to do better than guys.

I will keep you all in my prayers and thoughts. One moment at a time, one day at a time....
