Courage to Change 1-15-2016

The C2C reading for January 15 talks about the slogan,"One Day at a Time.  It suggests  that in spite of our fear and anxiety we don't know what tomorrow may bring. . Leaping into the future by projecting negatively is a very destructive habit .   This is is a  tool that  many of us have tried because of living with this disease .  We think,  incorrectly that worrying in advance makes it easier to face difficult news.

We are wrong because worrying does not protect us from the future. It just keeps  us from enjoying the here and now. The quote is from AJ Cronin; "Worrying never runs tomorrow of its sorrows; and only saps today of its strength."

Powerful reminder!

Thanks Betty and so powerful, so true and a game-changer for me.....I was one who was rarely present - I was either stuck in the past or worried about the future. This simple concept of one day at a time has truly transformed me, my program and my days.

I am grateful for Al-Anon, MIP and you - your ESH is always what I need when I need it!

Make it a great day - just for today!
