So I turned off the magic $$$ supply for my husband...who is mostly sober, but as of late, not always. He has cirrhosis/end stage liver disease. He is not able to work. When I turned off the money fountain, which was big deal he had no money no job I have money and good job.. he decided to start selling expensive things he owns on eBay.. Which is fine.. But everything is DRAMA..and I'm trying so hard to let go and let God. This is not my issue! meanwhile.. Our entire street smells (reeks) of gasoline bc he decided to sell a portable generator.. Without testing it before it sold for nearly $500.00...so he's out there doing Good knows what to the thing with some poor soul coming to pick it up tomorrow. My mind goes to the future where it doesn't belong...my HOA WILL be fining me for this..we live in an HOA neighborhood and neighbors have been "checking it out"..I'm looking for the right Alanon response..and also feeling my pulse shoot the roof. I'm the one that won't give him any money.. But can he not be so stupid?? And then how to react to idiocy? This is hard!

To add..I am not heartless.. He lives in our home..I pay all expenses, but he went through about a quarter of a million dollars over the last few years..so I've only cut the spending money. And I did lovingly detach. Trying too anyway.. I'm being kind and praying for God's will. But I'm not interested in spending $100 to"fix" a generator he sold for$500 which hasn't been used in 3 years..I drew the boundary and he is upset claiming he'll pay me back when he gets the$500... Which I didn't even agree with that..I feel sorry for the person who's agreed to buy it...

Thank you so much..No..not yet in terms of taking action...Ive been going to meetings and decided to wait 6 months before I do anything. I may well end up doing the same thing but my prayer is to be in a better place myself so I can withstand whatever it is, and having God closer to me and me being at peace with me...I did check out the law...and this action, for now anyway, is also ok in that since he is ill and unable to work the court would likely order immediate support as at this point he has not been violent and woukd be indigent. Just trusting Higher Power and TRYING to take one day at a time... Today that was a tall order!!!!

I do understand your concern Shelly Prayers and positive thought on the way. I would i image that the person who is paying the $500 will request a guarantee
