what a week it has been

This has been a week to remember after both of my program friends have had surgery on the same day. They are both recovering pretty well...It takes time. One had cataract surgery & the other had a hysterectomy. I am grateful to call them both friends & I love them dearly. So, I have to wait for my coin for another couple of weeks who cares. I can wait while my sponsor recovers from surgery. I know that I will be thrilled just to know she is OK. She has been struggling w/ a lot of pain. They finally nipped in the bud. It was definitely needed after some tests. I guess when women go through this, it is not necessarily a cut & dry procedure.

So, I had a pretty good week. I am so glad I am finally over my new year's eve cold. I was trying to rush it. I am also glad that I can truthfully say that I have not been complaining so much since the beginning of the year. So far so good. As most of you know, I have been trying to change my attitude.

Also, I am struggling w/ the excess weight I have had since the beginning of last spring. It is now a new year & I am hopeful. It is only about 10 Lbs. I actually didn't even gain much over the holidays. That is another issue. Sorry that I seem to be off track.

Thanks for standing by me through thick & thin. Through triumphs & failures. Through victories & all the rest.

It has been an awesome 30 years! I have a new focus & a new attitude!

Love you all!

Kat

Great Post Kat - love your update and where you are......I am so glad to hear that both of your friends will start the new year a new way - one able to see better than before and one who can hopefully live pain-free. I have a couple friends who have chronic pain (back) and they truly suffer....one described chronic pain as another person to carry along on a trip - you have to assume it's going with you, and if you wake up pain-free, you still have to consider 'the pain' as it may show up at any time during the day. I am so grateful to be healthy - except.....the dreaded extra weight!

I too have about 10-15 lbs., and it's been a bear to shake. I have been jogging and eating healthy and it seems to be very hard to shake weight as I age. Oh well - I am still very pleased with me and if that's the worst part of my day/week, I can live with it.

It's going to be a great year - I can feel it!!! So glad for your new focus and new attitude - it's contagious!!!

Love and (((hugs))) back to ya!

I wish things could always be fine and pleasant, but that will never happen. Sometimes I know better and still make a mistake, which I did last evening by carrying heavy boxes. All I can do is continue along my journey in recovery and learn to be a better person to myself and all others, even those who hurt me. I love every part of my recovery which includes the board.
