The material presented
here is not Al-Anon Conference Approved Literature. It is a method
to exchange
information, ideas, feelings, problems and solutions on a personal
level.
The C2C reading for January 4 speaks about the tools of the program and haw simple. they can be. The reading talks about a person first coming into the program.,seeing everyone with some degree of serenity and asking how can I accomplish the same.
The answer is; go to meetings, share when you can, work all the steps, but not all at once. Start with step one, get a sponsor, read Al-Anon literature every day, use the phone in between meetings. It appears like we're giving you a great deal of work to do what you will find that when you pick up all these tools change will occur. We now have resources that can help us to deal with the most difficult situation. Al-Anon gives me the tools we can use to achieve many goals, including, serenity, sanity. It is up to me to put them to work in my own life.
Today's quote is from the Dilemma of the Alcoholic Marriage; "daily vigilance will turn out to be a small price to pay for my peace of mind."
Great reading and tremendous reminder for the New Year

Lovely reading and lovely share Betty! Thank you for your service and your ESH.
I love the quote and it rings true in my life/program. When I can spend a portion of my day focused on my program and my recovery, I am better able to apply these principles in my daily life.
When I arrived, there were many, many things I was doing that kept my qualifiers from their destiny. I had to learn that I had choices and one of those was to stop doing for others what they could do for themselves. This sounds easy, but for me, it was a drastic shift in how I used my energy. The program, the suggestions of meetings, literature, self-care, steps, etc. all gave me positive things to do for myself that helped fill my time previously spent enabling others.
I am grateful for the program and how it has worked in my life. I do remember walking into the rooms and seeing people who were genuinely happy with their lives. I did want that but did not think it was a possibility for me. I am grateful I was proved wrong!
Have a marvelous day Betty! (((Hugs)))

Thank you as well Betty. Al-Anon tools and program work when I work it, on a daily basis. Once I got the gist,
working all the aspects into my life is second nature, because it can easily adapt to anyone's life.
