The Courage to Change reading for December 31 speaks about the end of the year and suggests taking a few minutes to contemplate the progress that we have made.. It asks us to note what we did to contribute to our success. For example: we continue to attend meetings we've reached out to others for fellowship set out literature chaired the meeting asked someone to be my sponsor.
If I have a sponsor, it would be a good time to thank the person for all I have been given and recognize my growing ability to love and trust others.
The discovery that I do play an important part in my own well-being is very important and we should celebrate our achievements and be grateful for all we have and most importantly Accepting the fact that we are not perfect.
The quote is from, In All Our Affairs. "I'm learning to treat myself as if I am valuable. I find when I practice long enough I begin to believe it."
Today's reading is a great one for reflection. As we close this year out, I am having a bitter sweet morning....I took my parents to the airport and they are in route back to home. I always wonder as I drive away if that will be the last time I see them, so I spend a few minutes crying.
We had a great visit, we had far less stress and I am grateful to have them and for them to be able to come and visit.
I am grateful for MIP, all our members, my sponsor and my program. I am excited for a new year and all that it brings!
I do believe I am valuable and that's a huge change from when I first arrived. Have a great day and may 2016 bring even more peace, joy and serenity to each of us!
(((Hugs)))
