Hope for Today dec 29

Good morning everyone-

Today's reading speaks to the idea of balance in our lives.  The writer realizes that through program work he/she has become more able to be centered in HP's will.  The need for control is released and balance is found.  We are centered in the gift of serenity.

I have just returned from visiting family in my hometown and have noticed how the instinct is to jump in on everyone's situation with an idea about what might improve it.  It is interesting because the intentions are certainly good, but minding each other's business breeds chaos and I noticed that I was able to stay out of it for the most part!

For me, finding my balance includes making sure I am paying attention to myself-- it is still my instinct to get caught up in the worlds of others;  I continue to work on my own world from the inside out.

after several weeks of balmy weather I woke up to our first snow of the year so it seems nature is finding Her balance also!

hope you all enjoy peaceful and fulfilling last few days of 2015!

mary

Thank you Mary, Love your share. I really can identify with the statement the only real change will happen if I "work on my world from the "Inside out".
Before program I worked on my problems from the "outside" believing if I fixed the outside all would be well. Alanon gave me the tools to go inward, find the true source of my difficulties and change them. Keeping the focus on myself was the key.

Enjoy your end of year

Mary, thank you as well. Your message rings very true, especially when it comes to finding the peace
from the inside and not the outside. No matter what others do, even if it is well meaning, minding
our own business and taking care of ourselves, in the midst of troubling situations, is the only answer
to serenity.

Mary - thanks for the ESH and the great daily! I feel this is the first time in a large family setting where I comfortably did NOT jump into any situation and offer unsolicited answers/advice. Perhaps that's why it was a great holiday - one of the best I can remember. Staying in my hula-hoop and keeping my side of the street clean seem to give me a peace that is beyond measure! I am so grateful that I found this program and committed to it.

I have been and will forever it seems chasing balance. Maybe 2016 will be a better year for that than 2015 - it does seem I get better at it with practice, practice, practice...

Make it a great evening and thanks for your service!
