Courage to Change reading 12-18

The C2C reading for December 18 speaks about trusting HP so that we can find the courage to act upon guidance that we might hear.

We cannot sit back and expect HP to do for us all that which we can clearly do for ourselves. We must do our part.

The 12 steps help us to distinguish between our responsibility and those we can turn over to God. The reminder goes on to state that we can give thanks for the guidance of HP and for the common sense needed to apply this guidance.

The quote is from, In All Our Affairs. "No one can define our role in the unique partnership we develop with our HP, "
I know that listening to the "Still small voice  within" I am often surprised to find that I want to react to the suggestion negatively   with a "closed mind"   or say "no I will not do that ".  When I finally get to the acceptance stage with an open mind, I find that I was directed to a powerful action that made my life better.

Just yesterday I thought that I had lost my Credit Card while out shopping.  I searched desperately through my purse growing increasingly upset, but could not find it.   I was making  plans to run home to cancel the card, when I heard that small voice say " It is  in the pocket of your key case"-- I did look and there it was.  I was able to continue to enjoy shopping and spending more money aww.  Thank you HP.

Great page, thank you Betty. I love the quoted saying in the intro: 'Trust in God and tie your camel to the tree". A great reminder that we need to be working in line with our prayers and direction of our hp.

For me that means reading and meditating daily on program principles and perspectives to help me gradually realign my thinking and behavior with more healthy habits. Failure to work diligently on my part leaves me only wishing that things in my life improve...not going to work! Grateful for your service and the wisdom of AlAnon

Great reading, great daily and great shares - thanks to you both!

Betty - that's too funny....your story about your credit card. I have been working OT on getting my house cleaned up and ready for my parents' visit tomorrow. On Wednesday, I was absolutely committed to making my F2F meeting. Anyways, at one point in my chores, I went into the laundry room to get some cleaning products. I opened the cabinet above my dryer, and saw my car keys on the dryer!

I was of the opinion that was my HP leading me.....I never put my keys in there and am not even sure how they got there but do know that I would have been panicked looking for them at meeting time had I not needed to sidestep my normal routine and get back-up cleaning supplies.....I was smiling and shaking my head after that side-step and thanking God - he knows me well!

I love today's reading and need constant reminders that I need to align my will with God's instead of hoping God's will can/should/will align with mine.

Thanks for your service folks and the great shares!
