Happy Friday MIP Family & Road Trip

I just wanted to pause and tell each of you that I hope you have a great day!  I also wanted to wish you each a peaceful and serene weekend!

Some of you know that I took a risk, and went to the lake for a girls weekend with High School friends.  Mind you, I've been out of High School for 35+ years, so it was a bit scary and a bit exciting.  Long story short, it went great and we rekindled our friendships.  We've been talking daily either via chat on mobile phones as a group or on facebook, also privately as a group.

Each of us has shared that it's been a gift to reconnect.  I have not shared my 'details' and may or may not at some point, it's just not completely necessary as we have a great time when we are together and stay 'in the moment'.

So, tomorrow, I am road-tripping to one of the girl's homes about an hour away.  We are having a holiday party and everyone is super excited to be getting back together.  We have vowed to stay in touch, see each other as often as we can and keep our group 'alive' as it's been a gift to all.

I am very excited to be going, yet a little nervous again.  I keep thinking that when I do new things, and or go beyond my comfort zone, it should be easier when it went well the first time.  However, I apparently am just built that way that I get nervous, excited, anxious - all of the above.  I will share that it's not a 'bad feeling' - it's more like a kid with a gift feeling....Can't wait, don't know what, etc.

So - if you don't see me a ton tomorrow, you'll know why.  I have F2F in the AM and then this shindig in the late afternoon/early evening.

I am grateful for each one of you and thank you for being a part of my recovery!  Have a marvelous day, filled with grace, peace and serenity.

Have a great time. it's been about 35 years for me too, I know I would be nervous. Heck, when I get a Facebook friend request from someone from high school I get nervous and wonder why they would want to connect with me now when they didn't seem to when we were in high school. When those buttons get installed early, they're easy to get pushed!

Ha.ha.ha......I hear you Kenny!!! When we were away for our weekend, one gal pulled me aside and said she felt guilty as she had treated another badly in high school. I told her that she could certainly apologize at any time she wanted to, but I remembered we all had our moments. We all discussed a bit later the ins/outs of high school and each professed how grateful we were for the gift of maturity.

I guess some of 'us' mature at a slower rate - I know I did. It was nothing like back then for me, and we all had no pretenses or unnecessary ego(s) displayed. It was truly a gift and it has kept on giving. I hear you about Facebook - it's not my favorite cup of tea at all but I do enjoy the photos of kids/pets. It also happens to be where most younger than I hang out, so when softball season is up/flowing, I have to go there to get updates, schedules, etc.

I will admit I prefer private groups to general social posting. I could care less who ate what, when, where, and/or why. But, that's a personal preference.

Thanks Betty and Kenny - I am excited to go!!!

(((Hugs)))

It always amazes me how much many
Of us are alike. Getting out of my comfort
Zone and depression is my next hurdle.

Baby steps, one day at a time!

Have fun (((((Hugs))))

Have a fabulous time on your shindig Iamhere! I'm sure once you get there and involved in the fun the nervous feelings will be long gone. Can't wait to hear all about it when you return! I will be Christmas shopping at the mall with the TEENS!! Haha !

Thanks you'all......<<my best southern voice - I am not southern, just in a funny mood!

We laughed so hard at the lake that my cheeks hurt for a day/so.

I'll update you all on Sunday!

Hey there MIP family -

As you can maybe tell (since my first visit here today is @ 5pm my time), I had a great time, stayed out and up way too late and had to reward myself with a long nap this afternoon.

We laughed again so very hard that my face hurts today. I feel so blessed that I've reconnected with this group of gals and we had a super wonderful time.

A part of me wonders why it took so long for us to 'gift each other' with our presence and another part of me remembers the phrase - In God's Time....

So - a lovely night with lovely friends - just too late for my age/stage of life! Grateful I only had a meeting today @ 10am to do today - got there and grateful for that too.

(((Hugs))) to all and thanks for your support as I had those last minute jitters over the outing!!!
