searching for the right thing to do

Last night my abf crashed his motorcycle, pretty much totalled it. I had to pick him up, and he was trashed. I was so angry about the danger hecput himself and the person involved in the accident, never mind his attitude about the entire thing. He thinks he is indestructable. Wechave a three yo and he helps to support my two other kids. He doesnt care or realize how many lives are impacted by his wreckless behaviour while drunk. Today he is sore...understandable. i dont have an ounce of sympathy. I dont even know how to react.

I am so sorry.  If it were my A, I think I would be angry and also very sad.  Especially angry at the disease.

It sounds as if you are in a little bit of a corner with needing to support your three children.  And your A is heading downhill.  That is very worrying and of course sadly you can't control or stop his downward slide.  I think in that position I might have Plans B, C and D ready.  What if he were hit by a bus, even without being an alcoholic?  We all need provisions to take care of life's uncertainties.  In this case unfortunately it sounds as if the chances he might be incapacitated are higher than with some people.  Please take care of yourself and your precious little ones.

Lisa, I too am sorry you are experiencing this reckless behavior and the worry for the future of
your family. Mattie has given you some great advice, I can see that you are, and understandably
so, worried about the future. Wishing you peace and HP's guidance.
