Things I took from convention

So, I was reviewing some old notes from an Al Anon convention I went to back in July.  The speaker asked us these 4 key questions, which I will ask of all of you.  This is a great exercise to bring back centeredness and to bring God back into the equation of working your steps:

1.  How can I make better contact with God every day?

2. Am I taking time to enjoy the present moment?

3. Am I becoming the person I want to be?

4. What can I give thanks for today?

For me, I know that I sometimes to turn my will over to God and I forget to get back to steps 1-3!

Then, I start future tripping and I don't stay in the present moment.

Then, I beat myself up for those things and guilt myself and shame myself for not being the 'perfect' Al Anoner.

And, then, finally, I forget to include gratitude into my day.

These 4 questions are on my fridge and I tell my son to read them every day.  I bring them to work with me.  Hope this helps someone else on the boards today!

I love conventions - the speakers, the fellowship - the whole experience.

I also love your post - what a great simple set of questions to consider as I embark upon my day or as I end my day!

Thanks for sharing!!! (((Hugs)))
