got sick, crawling my way back.

I am just starting back into alanon. I have been away way too long and lost all my serenity, centeredness and peace. I was involved and did the step work about six years ago. Didn't maintain it though. Now I am watching my grown daughter recover from a bad trip off pcp put in marijuana and I am married now to an recovering addict/alcoholic. But he busied himself out of the God connected man I married and I feel helpless to find my place amongst my family members struggling. Now I am struggling and have to start to do something different today out of sheer desperation and feelings of helplessness and hopelessness. Unfortunately this is a familiar place, and I am sad it is my normal now. I want more than anything to feel ok no matter what my close ones are doing, choose to do and I want to quit trying to make me feel better by waiting on their happiness and choices that I cant affect anyway. Well today is my first day of my new journey. It started with this post. I am hoping to do my first online meeting tonight. I go to counseling once a week but I seem to spin my wheels and get no where because I am not doing my own recovery. And every week since the last two months I started, I have said I am going to go back to alanon and go to a meeting, because I know it will help me. But I don't! So today is the day. God bless everyone and I hope my choices and your choices point us all in the direction of serenity and peace.

fortoday -

Welcome to MIP and welcome back to Al-Anon. So sorry for the situation you find yourself in - it happens to the best of us.

Glad that you knew what to do and where to go/come to regain your center. I hope you find peace and comfort in our little part of the web and we're glad you are here!

There are meetings twice daily here that are great to augment F2F meetings. Check the upper left side for the schedule and the link to the meeting room.

You are not alone and you've found a great recovery group here!

(((Hugs)))
