The C2C reading for September 30 speaks about the slogan:"Just for today."
It points out that Just for Today, we can take a different point of view and try changing some pattern of behavior that causes problems, just to see what happens.
For example, if we are in the habit of responding with a negative attitude to a particular person or situation, like getting out of bed, working ,requests for help, authorities figures, we can try a different more positive approach.
We can think of it as research and see what happens.
Each day we only have that one day to work with, the past is over and tomorrow is out of reach. Trying to remember what a great gift today is and try to appreciate the music of life as fully as possible, it will be a gift we give ourselves.
Just for today we can look for ways to enjoy life, stop by a garden, try a new hobby.
Quote is from Alcoholism, the Family Disease:; "Just for Today, I will find the time to relax and realize what life is and can be. Time to think about God and get a better perspective on myself.
I found The Just For Today Bookmark is a perfect little tool to practice this powerful principle. Thanks to Debbie excerpts from it are being posted daily to the Board.
I love "Just for Today" but always have to laugh at the examples given about what one might react negatively to...getting out of bed, working...yep! Have to work on that!
I too love Just for Today slogans/sayings. It so drives home that this moment and this day and what I do with it are what matters most!
Thanks Betty for the daily and for your service/support!
