Hi Everyone
My son is continuing to grow and is doing well. I came across these messages and they brought me back to the beginning of my journey.
1.Stop repeating negative enabling behavior in all its forms.
2Stop ignoring my own personal issues.
Stop being alone in our pain
4.Stop the flow of money NOW
5.Stop pretending things are going to be fine if I continue as I have been
6.Stop putting off the changes that must be made
7.Stop my own destructive patterns and behaviors
8.Stop feeling guilty
9Stop demanding that my adult child change
1 Stop making excuses for his negative behaviors and/or choices
1 Stop engaging in arguments, debates, or negotiations no verbal volleyball
1 Stop being a martyr

I remember those!! I remember all the good that came about from actually putting those into operation in my life...memorized them and made them habits. Practice makes perfect. eeerrrrrr progress. (((hugs)))

Thank you .Cathy. I needed that stapled to my forehead today. Did not do very well with my AD today in several areas. I have made my amends and tomorrow is a new day.
Thank you for this share, Cathy. I really needed to read this today after another issue with my AD this past weekend. She hasn't hit her rock bottom yet and it's breaking my heart. Here's my favorite: "I can't, my HP can, I think I'll let Him."
Hugs,
GE
