Interesting thought Debb , I know before program I would have disagreed with that statement, as I always thought that "OTHER" people's actions made me miserable. I did not have the constructive tools to do or think otherwise.
Thanks to alanon and learning how to keep the focus on myself, examine my motives, correct my part, pray, meditate make amends I can see how I have choices to be in serenity not anger and pain.
Debb this is so true for me. I love it. It reminds me of the amount of energy I spend trying to figure out the why what where when regarding my AH and that the energy would best be spent doing bigger and better things for me. Thanks for the wake up call!
Debb - that is a great saying/slogan/thought.....it quickly brought to mind, "Would you rather be right or would you rather be happy?"
I agree with Betty - before the program I fought everything and everyone and expelled tremendous energy and was never satisfied as I couldn't control people, places and things around me....not for lack of effort!
I now choose to work on me each day and put my energy towards work that brings me progress or joy or serenity. It's a similar level of effort some days, but the results are far more satisfying!
Make it a great day and (((Hugs))) to all!

Well, OTHER people do have a hand in offering me misery. Al-anon just taught me that when my AW offers it to me I don't have to say "Yes please...and some fries".
Regardless, we definitely make ourselves!
