here is not Al-Anon Conference Approved Literature. It is a method
to exchange
information, ideas, feelings, problems and solutions on a personal
level.
I just wanted to drop a line to those living in small town USA where locating Al-Anon groups can be difficult.
Last night AH asked his sponsor about my dilemma in finding an appropriate ff meeting. Naturally the first suggestion wa she one I attended for a while, but did not mesh well with. The sponsor, however, knew nothing of this but stated I might not enjoy that one because it is more of a "click". I found that very validating when I heard.
None the less, he said there was a very good network here that he would provide me the data for (through AH, of course...I have never met him) and also encouraged me to read the "Big Book" chapters 8-9, as many times as I felt I needed to.
i mention this as a resource for others like me, who feel like they don't often belong in a "group" setting. Perhaps asking (or having your A ask) an AA sponsor or long timer will be of benefit for you too. I don't yet have the information, but I believe in this man and he will do what he says.
I realize MIP has online meetings and do not wish to detract from these in any way.

I feel for those who have limited/no resources close by.
