New problem: daughter having withdrawals

I bagan Alanon a few months ago because my dry drunk husband started drinking again.

I picked my 29 year old daughter out of state and brought her to my house with a one year old daughter to help her "get well" because she was exhausted and in an abusive relationship. On the trip home I found out she has been abusing pain pills off and on  5 years and is login through withdrawal.

She was prescribed Wellbutrin, a sleeping pill, and something for anxiety.  She asked me for Ibprophrin and poppy seeds because they help with withdrawal. She is sick, nauseous, sweating, dizzy, and exhausted. I'm caring for the baby.

Any advice?

robinfl I am glad that your daughter is under doctor's care and has received a prescription for sleeping meds and anxiety. Providing Ibuprofen and poppy seeds for her, does not seem as if it would be harmful, but I would call her doctor's office and confirm.

Positive thoughts and prayers for you and your family

robinfl - (((Hugs))) for you and your daughter (and babe). My only advice is to immediate consult medical attention should anything change. I have seen withdrawal w/o medical supervision and with and the latter would be my preference.

Glad you are here and hope today is peaceful for you all.
