Aloha MIP family...was gone for a week without intention. A week ago yesterday my wife and youngest son put me in the car and rode me off to the local city hospital. Something was up again with my head and so we requested an emergency cat scan because I had recently returned from Oahu from emergency head surgery post op which said I was doing well...however the brain and head are more fragile than we thought. All the time I spent "down" and not jarring my head didn't give me a guarantee and so another ct scan and then I got control of my life taken over by the hospital, ambulance and air ambulance. My choice was to remain still and participate which are not really difficult instructions when you only have suspicions about what is going on. I was back in surgery at Triple Army Medical Center in about 2 hours which involved a different surgeon than the one we had just past seen and a procedure unlike the first. What was done and how I found out was what was necessary to allow me to sit before this computer and say thanks for the prayers previously sent. My brain was bleeding into my skull and causing a near fatal pressure condition. My part in all this at the time? be still and cooperate with the surgeon and staff...no problem...I thought of them as my new sponsors and I was a newbie again. I got to carry around the clean plastic envelope for three days to remind me what was happening and how I need to work an even more focused program.
The upside is that Tripler Army Medical Center is a hive of awesome enablers. That is what nurses and medics and doctors do naturally however this facility does it with unconditional love and respect. We secured many relationships with giving back our programs and I cannot even accurately describe the spiritual experience it was once again start to stop. There were and still are soooo many spiritually balance events that getting with their program and working it (getting woke up every 4 hours and working their protocols while being allowed to include our own) was/is as if we never missed a meeting.
This has been a life changing event without guarantees. This is the second time and I have been told that many do not get the 2nd chance. "Okay I know more now...what do we do next"? I've set myself back into change mode which has always been hard because I am a risk taker....being born and raised in this disease.
I've got more gratitude than fears today. I have a stronger impression of how my wife expresses love and concern. Sometimes it sounds like anger/fear ...only sometimes.
For all of the prayers and thoughts MIP has showered me with I am returning them. (((((hugs)))))
My wife also expresses love in similar manner - sometimes. It always takes me by surprise when it happens, which is probably good because it gets my attention.
I'm so happy you are back, and that you got that 2nd chance. Keep taking care of yourself, and keep leeting the wife and son take care of you when necessary!
Welcome home figuratively and literally! So grateful that your HP brought you through this and those who know and love you got you to the hospital for the required treatment.
Hugs to you, your family and your new extended family - may your healing be swift and without issues.
Make it a great day!

Thanks for the update. I love your idea of treating it like they're your sponsors and you need from them. I am thanking my hp for second chances no matter how many seconds I take.
Welcome home - again.
(((((((Tripler Army Medical Center ))))))) Thanks for taking such good care of Jerry!
(((((((Jerry))))))) Welcome Home!

Jerry, I missed you and was hoping you were gone because you were getting healthy again. Wonderful that you are! You hang in there! We're so glad to have you back.
