Update on me!

Hello everyone, can you please keep me in your thoughts and send positive vibes for me to trust God's will and what my next step will be regarding my job situation.  I had a job interview yesterday which went really well and they want to hire me but the pay is low and the drive is far.  I have been homeschooling my son for so many years and I am concerned about leaving him home for 10 hours a day to his own devices to get his schoolwork done come fall time.  I know I need to re-enter the workforce and this job will be a good stepping stone to a better future even if it's low paying because it's with a large company and has great benefits, etc.  The sooner I start working the sooner I can increase my earning potential since my spousal support and child support will end in 2 years.

Anyway,  I am very excited for the future and I'm enjoying my new single life.  Divorce from STBXAH will be done in about 2-3 weeks.  AH and I have been working through things amiably and he's even stepping up to the plate regarding helping me with our son's school schedule and tennis activities.

I also entered the dating scene and have been dating a very nice (no red flags) man for about 5 weeks now.  He is very thoughtful and kind and treats me well.  We're going on a weekend trip to San Francisco in June to relax and also visit some of his friends who live up there.  Dating has given me new perspective to my own disease of codependency and I have to say that I am proud of how I am handling life and dating and friendships and the STBXAH.  My program is always at work in my life and I am so grateful to you all and to Al Anon for helping me push my way out of codependent sick relationships into healthy ones. I still have a long way to go but I can see the light at the end of the tunnel and it's truly filled with gratitude for program and peace for my soul!  Thanks again for everything!!!

I know when we think about moving on to new lives, the fears come thick and fast.  I was terrified and kept thinking, "What if I get one month in and I realize it's all a huge mistake??"  Your wonderful opportunities show how false that apprehension can be.  It's very inspiring! I know it's not all perfect (for one thing I think they should start by paying you a ton of money smile), but it sounds as if there are so many great prospects ahead.  Such excelllent news and a wonderful reminder for all of us.

So, I got offered the job formally. I am planning on taking it and decided that if I like it and it works out, I can always move about 10-15 mins closer and cut my drive time down since I'm just renting. It will be a pain in the rear but it's a possibility. And, then I also realized that it will be easier for me to find a new job if I'm already employed especially by a company with a prestigious and respected name in town.

This is a HUGE step and I'm going to have to get my organizational skills tuned up and ready to rock and roll because of the homeschooling schedule and all the other things that I did during the weekdays that will now cease in my life. I know I can do this, I don't doubt my abilities for the job. It's the other stuff that takes up my life that I worry about: homeschooling, doctor visits, tutoring sessions for my son, dentist appointments, hair appointments, making sure my son has enough food for lunch around the house, etc.

Basically, it's a lot of change and I'm scared out of my mind. Yet, I feel that the changes I've made recently went pretty smoothly and didn't hit me very hard anyway. I feel that I handled it all with ease and with grace so I'm hoping that trend continues, LOL.
