Complicated and sad history with my mom. I was born in NY but raised by grandma iu French Canada until 6. When I went to live with my mom she didn't speak French. I have an accent and so no one figured she was my mom, and I look like my dad's side. Mom was an alcoholic. Dad is still alive and a gambler and nuts. Mom passed away last year. My two brothers and family don't speak to me after she passed on. I am the only one in ACA in 12 steps. Started 25 years ago. It caused the family to oust me. I was the only one noticing the big elephant in the living room I guess. Especially cleaning up the elephant dung! For everyone out there, I hope we all can find inner peace on mothers day.
Program offered me a healthy family in which to get the support, love and compassion that was missing in my FOO and the 12 Steps to help me let go of the pain of the past.
