I had a very bad day, but I picked up the phone and called my beloved alnon friends, who helped me come back to reality to change my attitude. Here I have been hoping for my AA dh who stopped drinking since December but I found him today in the parking lot at lunchtime drinking. it was a God moment for me to place me there!
Anyway here I have been placing all my hope in him when I really need to place all the hope with me. I have learned so much from my alnon girls how to cope. I am learning to be happy no matter what my circumstances are and I know there is no hope to be place on this person except the hope that he will tell me another lie. This I can court on. I will not believe him no matter what ever.
You know what I found out is that I need to concentrate on myself. I have learned so many things about myself being married to an AA. How strong and how much courage I have to change my attitude and not allow the AA to destroy my life. He is destroying himself and only he can save himself. I am done. I feel like I am married to a rock that just sits there and doesn't live.
I feel like I have given myself permission to be free.
I just feel sorry to put my kids through this mess. They don't deserve it.
All I can say .. Be with other people and don't isolate..
Thanks for listening.. my bad day was a moment in time.. Now this is my time.....
I like that hope in yourself. The more program and
Recovery work I do the stronger i get emotionally.
Keep reaching out for support that is the alanon
Way to healing. I know it has helped me to ask
For help. The disease is too much for anyone to
Handle alone.
I love your post. It shows you did learn some really important lessons about focusing on yourself, letting go, and trusting your hp. I was confused about one thing I am betting is just a typo sort of thing. Usually people refer to their qualifiers as AH, AW, ABF...etc. You using AA confused me. I think of that as Alcoholics Anonymous which, to me is a great thing and not something I would define an alcoholic by. Most alcoholics sadly don't make it to AA to recover.
