How do you break down that wall to let yourself grow?

Every time I start this growing "stuff" I get to a point that I shut off. I get involved in learning about how I tick then put that wall back up. I only delve so far in and then I realize nonono cant do it, back away. I wrote journals sometimes as a kid but then they got found. How do you get yourself to really open up and take a look? Is it really worth it?

Hi Barbara, Don't get discouraged, being honest and taking a good look at yourself and getting to know the true you can be painfull at times. We find out the things we sometime fear the most are just what we need to heal. We go through life using the tools that we are taught or that fill a need in us, but as you get to know who you are ,you will be shown what needs healing. I spend allot of years looking for answers. The more I learn the more I know I dont know. But with each day and each lesson I learn it becomes less and less painful and easier to deal with. Remember this, when you close one door another aways opens, when you learn one lesson fully you will never have to deal with it again. Take the time and effort to do your lessons, if a problem in your life keeps reappearing , take the time to soul search and find out what actually is HP trying to teach you here. People, places and things are always brought in our life to teach us. Once we realize that and take the effort to learn from them we are freed from the pain and no longer attract that lesson because we have mastered it. Yes it is worth it, you are worth it !!!   This is why we are here to learn lessons and grow. This is the only way to inner peace, trusting what is put in front of us is exactly what we need at the time to heal. I assume sometimes I have learnt my lesson only to find out I have more to learn on that same lesson because it continues to reappear. But I know when that happens I need some more soul searching or innerchild work etc. Don't forget we are all only human and only spirit knows whats best for our highest good and the highest good for our loved ones. A good tool I found was writing or journaling because after 15 minutes of writing instead of your mind speaking ,your spirit speaks. Your spirit is the God within and is your true self. Good luck and keep trying.

Baby steps, baby steps. Look back at yourself a year ago. Have you changed? Are you a little more honest, a little more able to see your part in things? Maybe you are moving at the pace that is best for you. Each time you wade in, you go a little deeper, and the water doesn't seem quite so cold.
I've seen a change in you since you started posting on this board. So, give yourself time. You didn't get where you are overnight, and it will take a long time to get better. But, you've got the rest of your life, it's an ongoing project.
