I asked God

It's been a very tough week.

Last night my friends Bill and Pam ( who helped to keep me safe this week) came up to check I was ok and Pam gave me this. I thought I could share it with you all;

I asked God to take away my habit..

He said "No,it is not for me to take away, but for you to give up"

I asked God to make my handicapped child whole..

He said "NO,his spirit is whole, his body is only temporary"

I asked God to grant me patience..

He said "No,patience isn't granted,it is learned"

I asked God to give me happiness..

He said "No,I give you blessings, happiness is up to you"

I asked God to spare me pain..

He said "No,suffering draws you apart from worldly cares and brings you closer to me"

I asked God to make my spirit grow..

He said "No,you must grow on your own,but I will prune you to make you fruitful"

I asked God for all things that I might enjoy life..

He said "No,I will give you life so that you may enjoy all things"

I asked God to help me love others..

He said"Ahhhhh! Finally you got the idea!!"

THIS DAY IS YOURS...DON'T THROW IT AWAY..

"TO THE WORLD YOU MAY BE ONE PERSON,

BUT TO ONE PERSON YOU MAY BE THE WORLD"

MAY GOD BLESS YOU.

What an awesome statement!!!  At least for me, personally, can't get too passed this, for I have experienced this myself.  In deep prayer (20 yrs ago)  when I wanted 'to be alleviated from pain & taken from this realm' ~ God sd...  "I will never ever take anything from you, my child...  you must willingly sacrifice yourself to me, for you have freedom of choice."

To this day, this is how I pray, in a state of surrendering freely.

Thanks for this beautiful post!

love, -Kitty of Light
