Just wanted to introduce my self I am a 47 yr old father of 3 girls.My wife of 21 yrs has been battling with alcholism for the past 10 yrs.I spent some time today in the chat room and am looking forward to my first meeting the people I met were fantastic.hope to chat again soon

I go to chat room as often as I can - usually late at night here in UK, about 5 hours ahead of you, so I hope to meet you there soon.
It will feel good to call a 47 yr old Papa! I am 54, lolol.
If you can get to a face to face meeting, and/or, buy some conference approved literature, it will help you to understand the program.
I have been in alanon for 5 years, it has changed my life. Still, I do stupid things, but, at least now, I have some insight, and real friends, here on this site, and from my meetings. The difference between my alanon friends and my other friends, I love them all, but, the alanons understand - only people who have lived with alcoholism truly understand.
I'm married for 12, been with my wife for 16. 3 kids and I've actually been battling the disease from the day I met her. I just didn't realize that it would progress to the full blown disease.
I think I thought I could rescue her from herself. :(

Welcome to this formidable group. I hope you will avail yourself of the meetings, the chat room and this board. All of them are incredibly awesome and I say that as someone who has not always found help in other places.
