Running under falling anvils?

Hi gang...

So while on vacation, I met this guy that I am attracted to - funny, intelligent, sexy, etc. Then I found out he's recovering A. He is in the other program, but I have some questions, especially for you long-timers ( I'm coming up on my 2 year chip next month.)

Is it unwise to even consider a relationship with a person who is a  recovering A, with the additional factor of it being long distance ( over 500 miles)? How much should I ask about his recovery in the beginning? Should I run before the anvil lands on me?

Thanks for any strength, experience, and hope you can share!

Of course you will be attracted to an "A"!   They are exciting and we seem to go right to them like a magnet!  But.....Only you know what is best for you.  Me....I run when I hear they have this probelm.  Because for me...I have to recover still and I cannot and will not put myself or my family in that position again.  Life is too short and half of mine is already gone so I am not wasting anymore of it on someone with alcoholism.  But that is me not you!

Short and to the point, the answers to your questions in order are: ...yes...yes...

Two strikes are already against this potential relationship. I would not hang around waiting for the third.
