Singalong (relationship blues?)

This isn't meant to be a downer, because my spouse and I are still together (miracle of the program).  However, I CAN say the emotions of this song really played out in the roller coaster of the drinking and then in the SOBRIETY, too.  Saying goodbye to all the zany stuff as we enter peace, calm,  Where did all that junk go?-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Goodbye to You --Words and Music by MICHELLE BRANCH

Of all the things I believed in, I just want to get it over with, Tears from behind my eyes, But I do not cry,  Counting the days that pass me by.

I've been searching deep down in my soul, Words that I'm hearin' are starting to get old, It feels like I'm starting all over again, The last three years were just pretend,     And I say,

****Goodbye to You, Goodbye to everything I thought I knew, You were the one I loved, The one thing I tried to hold on to.

I still get lost in your eyes, And it seems I can't live a day without you, Closing my eyes, And you chase my thoughts away, To a place where I am blinded by the light, But it's not right.

****CHORUS  ....Hold on to....And it hurts to want everything and nothing at the same time, I want what's yours and I want what's mine, I want you, And I'm not giving in this time,

Goodbye to You, Goodbye to everything I thought I knew, You were the one I loved, The one thing I tried to hold on to.          *****Repeat Chorus again,

Oh, Oh, woah, And when the stars fall, I will lie awake.  You're my shooting star.

Thanks wallsal. I'm crying because that is exactly how I feel about my A who wants a divorce. When will I be able to let go?

Hi, if you A and you do divorce, do not let anyone tell you the length of time it takes to let go.  It's a grief process and we have to go through all the phases.  (Seven, I believe).  It's taken me 2 1/2 - 3 yrs. to not have tears well up about things.   Take the best care of you that you can.
