anyone been to court to take person from jail to rehab?

Mother asked me last night if on Feb 28 I would go to the courthouse with her. My brother is being released from Bridgewater on that day and being brought directly to court. From there the plan is to have him go directly into rehab. We will need to drive him there! He's gonna be BS! Has anyone done this? any advice? I did ask my husband to come along. My brother's too strong/big a person for a 80yr woman and a 120lb sister.

Dear Barbara,

Whew! What next? I think it asking a lot of you and mom to do this. Have you contacted Bridgewater? Think you should ask their advice. With my son, no way would he go into psych ward, took 2 police, 2 psychiatrists, ambulance and handcuffs. Sorry if that freaks you - but, the thing was, when the professionals were there, he believed, understood he could not talk his way out of it.

Try to make the whole thing as undramatic as you can, for all of you.

My son is doing well - he is back with me - on meds, and going to a training centre 4 days a week (thank goodness, he needs to be occupied).

This will pass, Barbara, and keep telling yourself, you have done your best.

Take care of you

Lots of love,

Flora
xxxx
