The material presented
here is not Al-Anon Conference Approved Literature. It is a method
to exchange
information, ideas, feelings, problems and solutions on a personal
level.
How do I know which slogans are considered approved by Al-Anon? I want to use the topic of Al-Anon slogans and how we apply them to our lives when I lead our meeting next week, but don't want to share slogans which aren't CAL approved. Your input would be greatly appreciated, as I don't want to ruffle any feathers with our long-time members.
A great resource for slogans would be the back of the daily readers as well as How Alanon Works book .. they are simple reads however it is so well written the conversation abounds :)

Green Eyes: I'm not sure we have conference approved slogans - just conference approved literature. I know our groups never refer to slogans in meetings although we do say them, so I think you've had a really good idea! We use our readers in meetings but just focus on the steps or a topic. Good luck, next week! BTW. I am an old timer and I appreciate creative use of the English language in meetings and sayings that are helpful to our progress. My closest Al-Anon friends are also old timers and they like fresh sayings, too. I do, however, understand you wanting to use them from the literature if you're leading a meeting.

I love the slogans, in my meeting we have them hung up on the wall, we also have meetings where we use the slogans, sometimes we do an askit basket, this is when there are random sentences, Alanon of course folded up and each person takes one, shares on it and usually gets just what they need at the moment.x

Wow, thanks for all of your suggestions! I really like el-cee's idea about putting the slogans in a basket and then letting each person pick one that they would like to share on. This is one of the reasons why I love this board!
Hugs,

Thank you all so much. I see so many slogans all over the US and many I have never seen before. I need to find out if any and all slogans are CAL or if perhaps itās a group conscious decision in regards to the ones our groups accept for our table talks. I will start in my GR manual but if someone can head me the right direction that would be great. I appreciate the efforts

GreenEyes - I was the meeting facilitator in my group for the topic of slogans. I put this together to hand out and it was well received. I've posted here before too but it's always a pleasure to share again!
