here is not Al-Anon Conference Approved Literature. It is a method
to exchange
information, ideas, feelings, problems and solutions on a personal
level.
We know something is very wrong but we cant figure out what it si or we think we have identified the problem but can never seem to solve it. We may suspect that drinkign has something to do with our situaiton, but we dont rea want to think about it: afterall alcoholism can be embarrassing. Or we may be acutely aware of the drinking and its destructive consequences and feel responsible for doing something about it. We look for our answers in other------- If only she'd change. I"d be fine-----------------Yet can never quite convince anyone to go along with our plans. As a result, we feel victimized bye these "insensitive people" who, we beleive, could make our lives better if they cared about us enough to make a few changes. At the same time, many of us blame ourselves----- If only I were more_____, he wouldnt do these terrible things . We continue to struggle and we continue to lose. Worst of all, we lose hope.
However there is hope and that is within the walls of an alanon meeting. Many of us come to alanon for different reasons, but we stay for only one-------------------------"We want our lives to get better!".................................................gardengal
