I heard an interesting concept this weekend: Worry is essentially the opposite of prayer. It's a lack of faith in our HP. It is thinking that our own obsessions are a bigger priority for our time than our time spent with our HP. The more time we allow for worrying, the less time we are allowing for prayer and/or meditation and genuine sharing with our HP. When we worry, we are not "letting go and letting God."
After thinking about this, and realizing that I spend waaaay too much of my time worrying about things that I have little or no control over (and realizing that worrying never really makes things better), I thought about this: We never would say to someone: "I'm so sorry to hear your bad news - I will keep you in my thoughts and worries." Or, "Your are certainly in my worries right now," or, "Sending lots of worries your way."
The other day, I spent all day worrying about my tax return. By the time I went to bed, I decided that I was too emotionally and physically tired to devote much time to my nightly prayers and reading, so I quickly offered up a short prayer and then tossed and turned all night worrying about what the next day might bring. Hmm, I don't think that I made a good investment in how I chose to spend my time that day.
Green Eyes....Peeerrrrrrrfect!! especially after I was trying to use an unworkable method over again expecting different results all morning. I resorted to power meditation...faith with force LOL...It can happen!! It did stop me from worrying for enough time to get to this post. When the student is ready...the teacher arrives. Thank you God and your instrument. (((((hugs)))))
Good share, Green Eyes. You're not alone. I've spent more time worrying my way won't be done sometimes than praying God's will be done. Fortunately, we have a 10th step and can promptly admit it and move on to new behaviors. And - I did laugh out loud when I read that we don't say we will include people in our prayers and worries, but actually - I've done that - not said it. Thanks for the giggle, too.
I started to sing this song while I read your post!! Always makes me smiles, this song. Thanks for your share.
"Don't Worry, Be Happy"
Here's a little song I wrote
You might want to sing it note for note
Don't worry be happy
In every life we have some trouble
When you worry you make it double
Don't worry, be happy

Love this GE :) I like the saying worry never moved a rock and I use that one a LOT! It reminds me that until I put some effort that rock is just going to sit there and stare back at me and a few times to make my point to myself I would get a big rock and worry over it just to see if it would move .. LOL!
Hugs S :)

I love this and say pray for the day and let it go to God, it keeps me from worrying if I can picture myself handing things over to bigger hands. Thanks for this. Sending you love and support!
