Hello all!  At the group consience meeting tonight, it was voted in to make the Sunday AM meeting a "Spirtuality Meeting."  I thought i'd post here and tell all that weren't there about the change and just exactly what a spirtuality meeting is so here I go ;o)

A Spirtuality Meeting offers a place for program people to come, share and learn about spirituality.  I want to make sure to point out that a “spirituality meeting” is not a “religious meeting,” and matters of religion will not be of the topics since alanon is not a religious program but rather a spiritual one. 

A Spirituality meeting would be like a reserved topic meeting in the sense that all topics would revolve around Spirituality. Topics would still be picked by the group so long as they were relevant to Spirituality.  Some topics that could be used for a Spirituality Meeting might be:

The Serenity Prayer,  Faith vs. Fear, God of my Understanding, Gratitude, Hope, Humility, Let go and Let god, Love, Prayer and Meditation, Powerlessness, Self-Will, Self-Righteousness, Conscious Contact (with HP),  Serenity, Having a Spiritual Awakening, Step Work,  Surrender, Trust, Worry, Spiritual Growth, Doing HP’s Work, Understanding HP’s Will, Turn it Over ect ect…

We can also use a Spirituality Meeting to ask ourselves questions like:

Have I allowed the alcoholic situation to become my higher power?

How did I come to believe in my HP?

How is my HP different today than before I came to program?

What did I do today to be closer to my HP?

How open minded am I of others views of a HP? What can I do to become more accepting of their choice?

What did I do today to follow my HP's plan for my life?

What can I do to try to see other people as HP sees them?

How can I express HP’s will in my actions and words towards others, including the alcoholic?

The first Spirtuality Meeting will be held this Sunday at 10am EST, UK +5 hours, Central -1 hour, mountain -2 hours, pacific -3 hours.  Hope to see you all there!!
