Prayers needed for families

((((((((((((Hello roomies)))))))))))))))),

Exactly 24 hours ago, my apartment complex had a major fire which destroyed completely 1 building and 1/2 of another. 24 families are now homeless, and another 24 are displaced because they had to turn of the utilities in the lower part of the complex. A good friend has lost much, and she's getting married in 2 months.
We are trying to salvage her wedding dress and figure out how to go ahead with the wedding.

While the agencies are on sight taking care of their immediate needs, they sure could use your prayers tonight and for many more to come. The majority of the people don't have any renters insurance and are completly lost. HP was definetly there as there was not one person injured, or lost, nor one animal lost to the fire. (We have one missing kitty that ran into the woods but are hopeful to find her soon. ) I watched with tears in my eyes as people lives changed in an instant. It is very humbling to say the least.

By the grace of God that could have been my building. But I was spared. I watched as heroic people faught the blaze (the building was on the side of the hill, the worst possible place) in the freezing cold. I watched my apartment manager and his great staff cry because they could not help the tennants. (It is now 10:30pm, and they left about an hour ago after staying on the job over 24 hours). I have thanked God over and over again today that he spared me and the lives of those who were directly affected by the blaze.

Please keep these people in your thoughts and prayers. They don't call this the Miracles in Progress board for nothing. Thanks to all for your unwavering love and support. These people could use some too.

Love and blessings to all.

Live strong,
Karilynn

Karilynn:

I am so sorry to hear of this tragedy.  As someone who works with the homeless, I know the devastation that families face at this time.  My prayers go out to each and every person and my prayers are with you as well.

Hi Karilynn and I am so glad that you and your Kitty are okay.  Don't know if we are allowed to do it through here but maybe we could form some sort of support group for those who are suffering.  As you are there I will plant the seed in your mind as you know what is best for those involved.  Hugs and I hope your friend's wedding can go ahead.  People can be very giving when others need it most.  Luv Leo xx
