We do not control A guilt

There was this guy who got stopped around here not long ago and was sited for
drunk driving. He was belligerant, hit a cop, non compliant, uncooperative and
Had to be subdued with spray then he was physically restrained.

He refused the sobriety test.

It was later found out he was diabetic having a low blood sugar incident.

Does he have to feel guilty?

People who are not addicts can not relate to an A's guilt
anymore than a caucasion can relate to people of color living with prejudice. We have no control
over anyones guilt. We cannot allow or disallow anyone elses guilt. From my
experience no on is harder on themselves than the addict.

An A is an A sober or not. They do not make a choice to drink anymore than
we choose to drink water.

An addict is an addict whether it be food, shopping, drinking, sex whatever. There
is a major change in the addicts brain that they are driven to what ever
satisfies that need for seretonin or in other words ,pleasure.

The only way they can get some healthy sober time is constantly following a
program that they follow. A routine of healthy choices. They need things to be very
structured so they know exactly what to expect. They have to set the program
themselves.

It is hard to relate to for we who are not addicts. They do not think like we do.
The drug or whatever the addict uses to satisfy them is how they get
pleasure. Sadly the drug etc. almost always becomes bigger than they are.

No one chooses to be A. How strong it must be to lose your children, and other
loved ones, to lose careers that took years and years of college.

There is no question that it is a disease. Genetics prove it, years of research proves it.
The constant same symptoms that A's have proves it.

NO one can make themselves an A. They may have A behavior, but are not A.

I could experiment and be with a woman but I am not gay. A person can have a
drinking problem and not be A.

Anyway just some posts just got me thinking. love you guys, debilyn
