I finished my baking around 9 tonight....have a wonderful story to tell you....when my 18 yr old's car caught fire, about a week ago nobody stopped on on the road he was on to help, though he was trying to flag someone down....then this lady, like a grandma, who was on her way home, and lived on the private road where his car was, drove up her street, got a fire extinguisher and brought it back to my son. After that she told him to push the car on her road and he could leave it there until he figured out what he was going to do. She then brought him all the way home! My son asked with my baking and gift giving I do with my goodies if we could do a basket for this lady. I said Sure! When we had the car towed, the service was free but I tipped the driver and his ride along $25 dollars each, because it is Christmas and it seemed like the right thing to do. I bought a nice basket (everyone else gets like Christmas shirt boxes) I bought a nice little Christmas candle, we got it all together today and I did the whole shrink wrap thing on it. My son had a nice Thank you card for the lady....(he refers to her as "the lady who gave me a ride home") Anyway, he called her tonight, asked for the grandma, ya know, the lady that gave me a ride home when my car caught on fire and asked if she was going to be home because he wanted to bring her something. Of course, she said, "oh you don't need to do that" My son said "but I want to" so off we went. We drive down there, it's about 15 minutes from home, I pull up and my son opens the car door, I said she must be a grandma because she drives a Cadillac....he said that's what I got a ride home in, it's dashboard is all digital....(we always joke that his grandmas have nice things, I always say that’s because they don't have any kids at home LOL) anyway he goes to the door and then comes walking back with what looks like a Christmas card. He gets in the car and says that "the lady said she was going to leave the card on his car but we had towed it so fast and she didn't have his phone #" So I go to pull out and my son opens the card, he turns on the light to read it she had written on the inside, "To Brad, Merry Christmas, from "The lady who gave you a ride home" I thought how sweet....then he looks and there is $100 bill in the card! I had to pull the car over we both started crying....I said "see how blessed you are, you thought the car catching fire was a bad thing, think of the lives this has affected." He said yeah. I said you should buy yourself something very nice, think and spend wisely....it is yours to do with what you want. He started crying again. I said what? He said I feel bad because I don't have a job and I wanted to go Christmas shopping. I told him it was his money and to do with what he feels in his heart he should do. I had to share because it is such a "pay it forward" (the movie) kind of thing....It renews my faith in people, my HP knew I needed this right now.
Oh Mary that is so gorgeous Hp at work as the kindness was genuine on both sides. Wonder if this lady has come into your son's life for a reason. luv leo x
What a beautiful story. I finally recently have seen the movie Pay It Forward. I thought it was wonderful. Each life affects so many others and the actions of one carry on and on. It is something to aspire to.
Have a blessed and merry Christmas.

That was a great story! I have to print it out and keep it as a reminder. What a nice son you have raised too. If you see "Cadillac Grandma" give her a hug for me too. Funny how our HP works. Thanks for the reminder.
Merry Christmas!
Live strong, Karilynn
