lost a friend

Last night a friend let me know that she was uncomfortable being part of my support network because she has feelings for me and doesn't like the person I am currently "seeing".  It is very frustrating to me that one of the few people that I have been able to begin to open up to, has closed herself to me.  She doesn't feel she can spend time around me right now.  It hurts that this happens so early in my recovery - 1 month.  I have so few that I trust and need everyone - at least that is how I feel.  I was able to tell her that I understand - which I do - but now I am left with the hurt of losing a friend.

Hello angel,

Sometimes friends just need some time and they don't really know it. Give your friend some space and maybe try contact them after the holidays. Some friendships can still be held together with new boundaries. If the friendship doesn't last, maybe it wasn't meant to be. Hang in my friend. cdb (((((((((angel)))))))

Hi maybe she is having trouble coming to terms with the fact that she sees you in a situation that she wants you to get out of but you have different ideas.  She will need to accept this.  Give her time she may still come around it is probably hurting her to see you suffer in the relationship.  She maybe cutting you out of her life to protect herself. Remember the saying sometimes people come into our lives for a reason, a season or a lifetime.  We are here for you.  Luv Leo x

It is hard to have feelings for someone and watch them stay with someone you feel is destructive to them.

I've been in that boat in the past.  I offered my support through the bad times.  It did limit me as in since I had feelings otherwise, I'd never bad mouth the guy or tell her to leave him.  I guess in retrospect that was ok, because I've learned her that ESH can be stronger than advice.

I know this doesn't help but I hope that at least you know that someone did care enough about you.  They just weren't strong enough to watch you in a bad situation.  Some great word here on maybe talking after the holidays to her.  She might even check in with you from time to time.  Maybe she just can't watch it on a continuous basis.
