I have a friend I work with who is a Born Again Christian. We worked together at the beach all summer and had many discussions about the Bible, Alanon, our children our HP's as we each knew them and our alcoholic husbands. She is divorced from hers, but he is still her childrens father.
She had asked me to go to service with her many times this summer. As a reader, I have always been interested in the Bible as well as any books that help me grow closer to my HP who I refer to as God. She never tried to convert me, we spoke to and helped each other and I learned a lot from her. I also respect her and enjoy her company. Because of both our busy schedules, and our children we could never get together, so I did not ever go.
She had to take a leave of absence, due to some family problems she had, so I had not seen her in a while. Last week she returned to work. We where sent out together several times and resumed our conversations. We worked together on Thanksgiving morning and she once again asked me if I wanted to go to Service with her Saturday night. I told her I would try.
The past two days I haven't been doing well. I read a few posts this afternoon, and could not even gather much energy or the words to really answer many. I moped around in my PJ's all day. She called around 4 and asked if I wanted to go with her. I said yes, got dressed and she picked me up.
The Service tonight was on judging people. Her Pastor was reading from the book of Matthew and speaking of how judgement was not ours to do. He said we as humans cannot determine what motives where in a persons heart. he went on to speak of right and wrong, and said all we can do is to make sure we are doing what is right, that it is not our place or our responsibility to determine anothers actions. That we can protect ourselves from those people and the consequenses of their actions, but cannot change them and should not try and interpret them. That all we can do is pray for them.
I sat in awe and listened to a subject that is so important in my life right now. When they did the closing prayer I had tears in my eyes, because I so much need to be there tonight. I needed to hear these things.
Once again my HP put me where I needed to be. He put her back into my life and she asked me to go with her tonight. She didn't know the subject of the Service before we got there.
My Hp is looking after me through her in another way. As a retired Gymnastics instructor, for many years I worked in the gym. When the stress got to be too much, I would go and bounce on the trampoline. The more upset I was the harder I bounced. I loved it and it made me feel so exhilerated. I have not had that in a few years. I have missed the opportunity to bounce away my aggrivation. When she dropped me at home tonight, she told me she had cleaned out her garage and wanted to know if we would like the trampoline her kids no longer used. She knows that I know how to use it and can instruct my children to use it safely. I can also bounce myself. I am picking it up tomorrow and cannot wait to bounce my aggression away.
Hp has been very good to me tonight. I feel alive again, and ready to face tomorrow.
