Happy Thanksgiving!

Hi roomies,

I know this is a day early and very early (6:30am), but with tomorrow and my work schedule this weekend, I may not get the chance to post.

I want to wish each and every one of you, your family and friends a VERY HAPPY THANKSGIVING. While for the majority of us it's about the feast, the football (okay for me it's alot about the football), let's us remember that's this holiday is so much more. It's about being thankful.

I am incredibily greatful for many things. I have my familyand my nieces whom are my joy. As I sit here I'm looking over at kitty who came to us this year and is staring at the printer hoping I will turn it on this morning. My husband will be home tonight and all day tomorrow. He has had a lot of sobriety, and I am so greatful for that. We are closer than ever. I have my loving friends around me, both on this board and scattered all over the globe. (Distance really doesn't seem so bad when you have the friends I have. They are just a phone call or a click away.) You have all been immensley supportive of me and from the bottom of my heart I thank you. I have a job and a roof over my head. While my job isn't ideal, I am thankful it pays so that I can have health assurance, and a savings plan. Many have none.

I am thankful of all the agencies that have helped my A. For any of you that are in those fields, blessings to you. I am thankful that I am healthy, and can go for the long walks I love and I can feed the stray kitties on my way to work. They make me smile. While it has been a difficult year, I am thankful that I am here to enjoy it and experience it. I can't wait to come home from work tonight and have my husband here. All 3 of us will snuggle in bed, my husband on one side lightly snoring, kitty on the other purring and me somewhere down at the end of the bed, because they hog the bed. That'll be my bit of heaven.

May you all have a peaceful, happy, wonderful day tomorrow. Take a moment and think of those less fortuanate than us. Eventhough we are all going through a bit of a hard time, there are others that are much more worse off than us. At least we have the ability to reach out to each other. Some people have nothing. If you get the chance, check on an elderly neighbor, help someone in need, donate a bit extra to the local food pantry. Be safe and be kind to each other. Enjoy your day.

Live strong,
Karilynn

Funny how HP works.  While my A is an active mess this year I have a new reason to be thankful.

This latest long term binge sent me to alanon.  At my regular 2 F2F meetings and here I've met the most wonderful people.  People who really do love me and support me.  I've found a place where I can look at myself, improve my self, grow and be safe.

What a gift for myself.

Thank you all,

Bob
