step 2

Good Evening all,

It was 2 weeks ago now and I was off to what I thought would be a retreat weekend, Well was I surprised to find out that it was a self awarness course. The course has 4 Steps.  That was step 1.  Now this weekend is step 2.

I think I was able to receive the message being sent alittle more easily then some of the others due to the fact that I already have a 12 step program in place.  being a greatful member of Alanon has taught me some great tools for my tool box of life.  This weekend I will continue to learn and grow.

Life with my A has been pretty good for me the past few weeks, infact I have not had any issues with my A since the canadian thanksgiving weekend in OCT when he showed up drunk wanting to take the kids, ya right...big mess that was.  Then there was the bday party for my son and my A shows up out of the blue and meets my boyfriend. Maybe that was a reality check for him. ( he always thougth I would get back together with him...in his eyes noone would want me, remember Im a bitch)  Me and my A have been apart for almost 2yrs and this is my first bf since and we have only been dating for 10ms.

Anyways, I am willing to continue my journey of growth.

Some of you might remember the dog situation?.... I had a really good chat with my bf about his dog, ....this weekend the dog will go to visit some of bf friends in Campbell River, that will drive to pick him up.

Im anxious and nervous all on the same level.  It was funny to me, in my course, we were teamed up with another, for me I was paired with a fellow, anyways....guess what??? he is 8 yrs in recovery what is the deal, I must attract addicts to me!!....lol

Wish me luck, I love an adventure but hate the thought of loosing control of my emotions, (i have been told this weekend will have me bawling my eyes out but when its over, I will have let everything go)  I look forward to that, Let go and Let god I say.

Thanks for being here.  good luck to each of you in your recovery.

Yvette

Wow!  You are doing awesome!  What growth even from a few weeks ago when you were panicking about where to put the dog!

You are sure doing well!  Keep up the positive attitude, the clear mind, and relying on your HP for guidance and relief.

Looking forward to hear about your next session at the reatreat!  Aron
