Thanks so much to those on this board who directed me to the Alanon pamphlet, "A Merry-Go-Round Named Denial." Although there were parts of it that rang so true to me that it was almost too painful to absorb, there was almost a sense of relief to know that others have experienced what our family has as my AH's disease has progressed. It is also comforting for me to know that I am on the right path, that I am not alone in this, and that I am making the right decisions/choices, as difficult as they might be.

If you cant get a copy at your local meeting, there are a few more ways in which you can get a copy.  One is from the local alanon information center for your area, another is the Alanon Alateen WSO website:

That is one of the pamphlets we stick in our face to face meeting newcomer packets. It is one of the best in my opinion the program has to offer.  I am so glad this was posted as I never realized how many had never seen it before.   I think it sells for .75 in face to face meetings but we give all of our pamphlets away for free to those that want them.
