I am requesting prayers for my daughter's friend, Danielle, who was in a bad car accident earlier today. She was hit head-on by a truck that crossed into her lane. She had to be cut out of her car, and lifeflighted to Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville, Tn. She is only a senior in high school, and just spent the night here with my daughter a couple of weeks ago. We go to church with her parents. In fact, her dad is a police officer. Danielle was unconscious when they took her to the hospital, and was still unconscious last we heard. She is having surgery right now to remove a blood clot from her brain. What is ironic, is that when she was coming over to our house after a big birthday party bash for their twin friends, her dad called me to check and make sure I knew she was coming. He told me to call him if anything came up, or if they didn't make it home by the time they said they'd be here. He was making sure she was safe...and the party was only 2 blocks away from my house, so I felt good about them being that close to me. He wanted to make sure she made it here safely, and now, in the blink of any eye, she is close to death. This just breaks my heart. Please pray for this young lady and her wonderful, caring parents. Most of my daughter's friends' parents don't call me to make sure they are coming over, or to check their story. This father did - he's a rare parent these days.
Thanks for all of your support when I've need it! I love you guys very much -
I've heard an update on Danielle. She is out of surgery, and it went as well as they could have hoped, the surgeon said. He said the bleeding was between the sac that surrounds the brain and the skull, so no bleeding was in the brain itself. That is great news! She is still asleep, has been since the accident, and the doctor said she could wake up in a couple of hours or a couple of days...there's no telling when she could wake up, if she does at all. This accident happened on a curvy back country road that my daughter takes to school every morning. I have always worried about the kids driving this road, how fast they drive, and something happening to my child. The person in the other vehicle that hit Danielle was apparently unhurt. Please pray for him/her and his/her family as well. I'm sure they are filled with grief too. Gosh, I'm not sure I want my daughter to drive anymore...you never know what may happen.
Thanks again for listening and praying. Please continue to pray...
Heartfelt prayers are with your daughters friend, family and your family. It always brings tears to my eyes when I hear or see such tragedy. The tears automatically are followed with a prayer to God to offer comfort, strength and healing when these situations occur.

Am praying for your daughter's friend and her family and family of other person in the accident and him too. Oh my we just have to keep our children lifted up and pray that God will surround them with his angels all the time. My boy is an officer of the law and I pray that all the time. For both my children and all my gkids too. so glad she came thru the surgery! Know that HP is watching over her now.
Prayers on the way right now. Danielle is my cousin's name so I will have no problem with that. May God and Guardian Angels be above and around her bedside right now healing her and helping her back to her previous self. God can do miracles and he will do one for her. Amen cdb
Thank you all soooo much for the prayers! Last thing I heard was that nothing had changed since after the surgery last night. Danielle is still unconscious, as of around noon today. I haven't heard anything since then. God sure does work some awesome miracles... I know with all the prayers going to Him from everyone that He will look out for her.
This morning when I left my daughter's high school pep rally, I came home down the road where the accident happened. I saw the skid marks where the pickup came out of it's lane into her car, and saw a couple mailboxes that were taken out as well. It was very real driving by where it happened. And also very sad.
I will keep you all posted if I hear anything else.
Prayers still on the way......((((((((Danielle)))))))) poor thing. May God's Guardian Angels watch over her and keep her safe. May God's healing power restore her to health. cdb
Thanks for keeping these people in your prayers. Here is the lastest update on Danielle. She is still unconscious, and her parents told our preacher that the doctors and they are now talking long-term care, possibly a nursing home for her. Again they said that she may wake up in a little while, a long time, or possibly never. This is so devastating! I am hurting inside for her parents! This is not what any parent would ever want to have to face.
There was also another accident Friday morning in town. (Danielle's accident was Thursday after school.) Two other students were injured - a brother and sister. I originally was told the sister died, but my daughter said they found out she did not die. They were both injured though. The brother used to be in my daughter's class, but changed schools. The sister is in 9th or 10th grade at the other school. Please keep their families in your prayers as well. I am sure hoping that this is a wake-up call for my daughter to be very careful, and that you never know when it's your time to leave this place.
